Frost Bank Reports 10 Years of Trouble-Free Service with SQN Banking Systems
-Signature verification system clears 800 signatures per day-
RANCOCAS, N.J., Dec. 19, 2006 – Ten years ago, when San Antonio, Texas-based Frost Bank was looking for new technology to
upgrade its record keeping and signature verification system, they turned to New Jersey-based SQN Banking Systems, a leading provider of
fraud detection and process improvement products for the financial industry, and they have hardly talked to them since -- because there hasn’t
been a need to.
“I can’t remember the last time we talked to SQN about a problem,” said Gloria Navarro, senior vice president, Deposit Services for Frost Bank.
“We had so many problems with our old record systems. Not only would the system lose information that we had to rescan; it would take our vendor
two or three days to get someone to the bank to fix it.”
The conversion to SQN technology went smoothly according to Navarro. “SQN personnel were on site for backup," she said. Frost Bank is using
SQN’s SENTRY: SignatureTM to display signature and photo ID images for verification at the teller station. The bank has more than 100 branches
throughout Texas, $11.6 billion in assets and more than 300,000 accounts.
Frost Bank processes almost 800 signature cards a day. “SENTRY: Signature pops up automatically at the teller station, and we don’t have to
ask for ID from our customers,” said Navarro. “It’s very efficient, even though our volume has increased tremendously since we first got the
system.”
