Inspect’s automated system is designed
to reduce check fraud losses by detecting counterfeit
and forged checks. The software automatically reviews
the front of targeted on-us check images and compares
them to a registered data template in the customer’s
profile and the daily MICR information. Inspect then
flags items with discrepancies for further review by
bank personnel. Check fraud schemes are identified faster
and productivity is significantly improved over manual
or semi-automated research methods. By reading the legal
amount and payee line information, Inspect compliments
existing image based positive pay systems.
